The AlchemistTitle: The Alchemist

The alchemist is the story of an Andalusian shepherd boy named Santiago who embarks on an adventure from his homeland in Spain to North Africa in search of a treasure buried in the Pyramids.

It is a small book that packs a punch. I was so enthralled by The Alchemist and the journey of this shepherd boy. He meets some amazing characters along the way and the underlying current in the book is so intriguing as you unravel the meaning behind his quest. I was amazed by how much I felt I knew about the shepherd and his life even though the book is so short. I really don't want to say too much as it's one of those books that is so much better if you go into it not knowing too much about it. But it was a wonderful read and I'm so glad I had the chance to get my hands on it.

  1. You are so right that this book is better when you read it without knowing much about it. So many people had talked this book up to me and once I read it I wasn't that into it.
